Animating Shakespeare

Animation can be a great way to engage young people with subjects that they may not normally be interested in. BBC 21CC, the BBC's digital learning studio, has worked with 13-15 year olds to bring the Off By Heart Shakespeare set speeches to life in an unusual way. We hope that your students will be inspired to get to know Shakespeare better by watching them.

The audio accompanying the animations demonstrates how young people have interpreted the speeches. Could listening to their performances encourage your students to try dramatizing them themselves?
