The Dig In campaign encourages the nation to grow their own grub, giving people help every step of the way from 'plot to plate'.
Dig In have produced a new set of KS2 lesson plans which support each nation's curriculum and Every Child Matters. The lesson plans compliment existing growing projects or can be used by schools starting from scratch.
For younger learners, Dig In has produced vegetable themed worksheets for Colours and Numbers.
Growing your own at school can offer pupils and staff a huge sense of achievement. Encouraging pupils to sow, grow and harvest their own vegetables will offer you opportunities to link to several areas of the curriculum.
Remember, you don't necessarily need an allotment to take part, you can use a small patch of playground or even a plant pot on a windowsill in the classroom.
