Michelle Obama and fashion

Michelle Obama, the first lady of the United States has repeatedly been connected to the fashion industry before during and after the elections. But why is that?

Michelle is now recognised as being a fashion icon making the news headlines as much as her husband, the President. She also has been compared to other first ladies such as Nancy Reagan and Jacqueline Kennedy who were seen to be glamorous and elegant.

The article about her are all over the tabloids focussing on her style and the outfits she wears. Almost all of them her has been about fashion. She has captured the attention around the world as much, if not more than, president Barack Obama since he has been elected. But shouldn't she be recognised by the things she does rather than her outfits?

Apart from being a fashion icon

During her visit to London, Michelle Obama has attended had many talks with world leaders and other important people. She attended the G20 conference as well as visiting the Queen and the Prime Minister. During that time Michelle also went to have a prep talk at the Elizabeth Garrett Anderson Language school for girls. The first Lady is also trying to raise awareness for cancer treatments by visiting Maggie's Cancer Caring Centres.

Perhaps there's so much talk about her as many find her to be inspirational to women and young girls, the same way that Barack Obama is seen to be an inspiration to the world.
