What were you like at school?

Noise, mad, blabbermouth, uncontrollable

What did you want to be when you grew up?

An actor

What were your favourite / least favourite school subjects?

Favourite: English, Biology. Least favourite: Maths.

What was your favourite book when you were growing up?

The Amazing Pranks of Til Eulenspiegel

What was your favourite TV show when you were growing up

Didn't have TV till I was 10, then it was Danger Man.

Who is the person you admire most?

Mordecai Vanunu, who is in solitary confinement prison in Israel, sentenced to 17 years imprisonment. He told the world about Israel's nuclear stockpile.

What is your greatest ambition?

To give more and more people intriguing, pleasurable and surprising times reading what I write or seeing/hearing my shows.

What is your biggest worry?

Another death of one of my children.

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

To stop saying jokey incomprehensible things to people I don't know.

What are you having for dinner tonight?

Last night I had: Roasted mediterranean vegetables, houmous, Anya potatoes, Sainsbury's quiche, tomato lettuce and mushroom salad... don't know what I'm having tonight.
