Brisingr by Christopher Paolini

Brisingr by Christopher Paolini

Oaths sworn... Loyalties tested... Forces collide.

It's been only months since Eragon first uttered "brisingr", and ancient-language term for fire. Since then, he's not only learned to create magic with swords, he's been challenged to his very core. Following the battle against the Empire's warriors, Eragon and his dragon, Saphira, have narrowly escaped with their lives.

Introduction

Brisingr is an amazing achievement. Brisingr takes you on a journey with Eragon a dragon rider as they battle the evil King Galbatorix. You get to meet the dwarfs and the elegant elves, and many more magical creatures. The tale of Brisingr is made for the people who like reading about the unreal and danger.

Plot

It is hard to write a book review, without giving too much away but here it goes…In the tale Brisingr, Eragon and Sapphire go to the lands of Uru'baen, were they will be in enemy territory, to help save Eragon's cousins fiancée. Eragon and his cousin Roran finally meet after many months, but Roran can not find the way he feels for Eragon- does he feel happy that Eragon is alive and that he finally found him? Or does he feel angry that because of Eragon his father is dead. Eragon finds out more about who his real father is and what the real Eragon's mother was. Nusuada, the leader of the varden (a group against Galbatorix) takes on the task of looking after the people and fighting the war with Galbatorix. Eragon and Sapphire travel to the land of dwarfs were they help select the new king. A group of dwarfs want Eragon dead and they try as hard as they can to kill them.

Characters

The main characters in the book are Eragon and Sapphira. Eragon is a kind hearted young adult, who hates having to kill but does it because he is a dragon rider and as a dragon rider, he has to protect the people of the Varden, no matter what the cost is. He tries to be brave and catch the heart of an elf named Aria. But, no matter how hard he tries she doesn't let anything slip, she reminds Eragon that there mission is to kill the evil dragon rider Galbatorix and to find out his weakness.

Sapphira is more of a laid back sort of dragon she feels a bit jealous of Eragon being in love with Aria, but she tries not to show it. She loves Eragon like a mother would and she would do anything to save him, Even though in years she is younger than Eragon, but in mind she is thousands of years older.

Summary

There were parts in the story that you wish something would happen. But every time you actually think about adding a little bit of action, it would have ruined the book. So I think that this is an amazing tale written by an amazing story writer.

There is no way that you could be able to put it down. I read it every second that I had. You get into the story very early before you even know. It's just brilliant!
