Planning

I'm going to write a story,
With all my favourite things.
I’ll set it in a castle
with noble queens and kings.

But then I’ll make a journey.
I’ll choose some foreign land.
To save a prince or princess
My story must be planned.

Get the sequence right, put it on a chart,
Decide upon your destination, then you can depart.

I could sail across the oceans,
Or drive a covered wagon,
Be chased by elves or pirates,
Or a fire breathing dragon?

I could end up in a dungeon
But how will I escape.
I could tunnel underground
Or use my magic cape.

Get the sequence right, put it on a chart.
You must decide the ending, before you even start.

At last I’ll find the prisoner
But how do we get home?
We could ride a magic carpet
With directions from a gnome.

But shall I fall in love?
I s’pose it’s all depending
Have I planned my story
To have a happy ending?

Put it on a chart, get the sequence right.
You’ve planned your story perfectly. It’s there in black and white.
