How do you get to school?
¿Cómo vas al colegio? - How do you get to school?
(Yo) voy al colegio en coche. - I go to school by car.
You might also go:
en autobús - by bus
a pie - on foot
Or perhaps en bicicleta (by bicycle) or en bici for short.
en bicicleta, en bici - by bicycle, by bike
You might want to describe your journey to school to someone:
Cuando voy al colegio... - When I go to school...
paso... - I pass...
por delante de... - in front of...
You might pass:
una tienda - a shop
una oficina de correos - a post office
una iglesia - a church
una cafetería - a café
If your school is in the middle of town, you might pass:
un museo - a museum
una estación (de tren) - a (train) station
un banco - a bank
Or you might be lucky enough to pass un río.

If you're giving someone instructions of how to get to your school, you might find these phrases useful:
cinco minutos más tarde - five minutes later
por fin - finally
Giro - I turn
a la derecha - (to/on the) right
a la izquierda - (to/on the) left
Sigo - I go / follow
todo recto - straight ahead
So for example:
Cuando voy al colegio paso una iglesia y por delante de un banco. - When I go to school, I go past a church and in front of a bank.
Cinco minutos más tarde, giro a la derecha y por fin llego al colegio. - Five minutes later I turn right and finally arrive at school.
