When you’re talking about seeds or minibeasts you might want to talk about things growing.

Here are some helpful words!

une graine - a seed

une graine de haricot - a bean seed

une graine de laitue - a lettuce seed

Can you see how the type of seed comes after the word ‘seed’?

la racine - the root

une feuille - a leaf

une branche - a branch

A useful verb is pousser which means ‘to grow’. It also means ‘to push’. That makes sense, doesn’t it, as the shoots push out of the ground?

La racine pousse. - The root grows.

La feuille pousse sur la branche. - The leaf grows on the branch.
