CILT (Centre for Information on Language Teaching and Research)
An invaluable resource for teachers and students alike, providing a library, details of new initiatives and projects. Under the CILT information sheets, primary education, there is a very useful section 'a guide for parents'. The CILT site also provides a link to the Comenius network of 14 regional centers throughout the United Kingdom, many of which now run regional support groups for early language learning.

NACELL (National Advisory Centre on Early Language Learning)
This organisation, managed by CILT, gives specific information on teaching languages to primary-aged children. It is literally a one-stop shop for anyone with an interest in early language learning. It also provides links to related sites, e.g. to the QCA site (qca.org.uk) which provides the Key Stage 2 Modern Foreign Languages Schemes of Work, and the DfEE standards site (standards.dfee.gov.uk) which gives information about the National Curriculum and Modern Languages teaching.

BBC French site for adult learners
Try an online course or find out more about French culture. The site provides helpful grammar notes, useful for parents who would like to improve on a basic knowledge of French.

BONJOUR
This site offers resources for learners and teachers of French, offering presentations and interactive games related to early vocabulary themes.
