A crystal is a type of solid that is arranged in a regular pattern. This makes a material with a particular shape and colour. Salt and sugar are crystals.
To make crystals with this experiment you will need to heat water, so you will need an adult to help you. You will also need:
- Table salt
- Empty jam jar
- Sewing thread
- Pencil
- Paperclip
- Card
