If you are having difficulty loading or navigating the Maths File site, please read our tips below.

Why do I need to download the Shockwave plug-in?
The Maths File site contains games that are only available if you have the Shockwave plug-in installed. Shockwave is a free plug-in which you can download by selecting the "Get Shockwave" button below.

How can I tell if I have the Shockwave plug-in?
If you've got the Shockwave plug-in, and it has been correctly installed, you will see an animation of a gorilla below and on the front page of the site.

How do I move around the site?
You can select one of four sections from the home page: Games, Print Offs, Teachers and Help.

       Home page

The Games section includes 12 Shockwave games which cover Number, Algebra, Shape, Space & Measure, and Data Handling

Print Offs
The Print Offs are printable resources that explore the same Maths topics as the Games but do not require any technology. Simply print them off to use in the classroom or at home.

       Print Offs

The Teachers section gives a detailed breakdown of Maths File's alignment to the KS3 National Curriculum. It also includes the answers to the Print Offs.
