State changes

Substances change state when they are heated up or cooled down. These are the different state changes:

Heating up melting solid Image: red arrow symbol liquid
evaporating liquid Image: red arrow symbol gas
Cooling down condensing gas Image: red arrow symbol liquid
freezing liquid Image: red arrow symbol solid

Make sure you can recognise the different state changes



Sometimes it can be easy to muddle up melting, evaporating, condensing and freezing, so make sure you know what they mean.
