Angles - Measuring angles

When measuring angles, make sure that the centre of the protractor is over the vertex (corner) of the angle and that the base line of the protractor is along one of the lines of the angle.

The centre of the protractor is place on the vertex. The base line of the protractor is placed along one of the lines. Always read from zero. In this case, the inside scale is used to work out the angle

Question

Use the protractor to measure the following angle:

Line BC is along the 0 line on the protractor. Line AB is along the 40 degree line on the protractor

Question

Use the protractor to measure the following angle:

Line XY runs throgh 0 on the protractor. Line YZ runs through 70 degrees on the protractor
