When we toss a coin, we know that there is an equal chance of obtaining a head or a tail.
When we throw a die we know that the probability of getting a 6 is

But what is the probability that as we look out of a window at a street, the next car that passes will be red?
We can no longer use equally likely outcomes, so we need to use
relative frequency.
