Negative numbers

Introduction

Numbers don't just stop at zero. When you count backwards from zero, you go into negative numbers.

Scale from -10 to 10

Positive numbers are more than zero.

Negative numbers are less than zero.

Use a number line to order negative numbers. For instance, it is easy to see that -2 is a higher number than -5 because it is further to the right on the number line.
