Exam tips

  1. Don't jump to conclusions:
    • Sometimes just one word being different can alter the sense.
    • Two sentences can use different words but still mean the same thing. The same information may just be presented in a different order.
  2. Use clues to help you:
    • Check out time words and phrases. You'll find them in the vocabulary section
  3. Look carefully at any word you don't know:
    • Is it similar to an English word? Look closely at words eg imprudencia, velocidad, propietario
  4. Unfamiliar vocabulary:
    • Higher level texts often deliberately use some unfamiliar vocabulary.
    • Don't panic if you don't understand all the words. You can probably still work out what is happening!
