Exam tips
- Don't jump to conclusions:
- Sometimes just one word being different can alter the sense.
- Two sentences can use different words but still mean the same thing. The same information may just be presented in a different order.
- Use clues to help you:
- Check out time words and phrases. You'll find them in the vocabulary section
- Look carefully at any word you don't know:
- Is it similar to an English word? Look closely at words eg imprudencia, velocidad, propietario
- Unfamiliar vocabulary:
- Higher level texts often deliberately use some unfamiliar vocabulary.
- Don't panic if you don't understand all the words. You can probably still work out what is happening!
