FAQs

Which Science GCSEs can you find on Bitesize?

The Science section on GCSE Bitesize covers:

- Science GCSE (we've called 'Core Science')
- Additional Science GCSE

Why are there so many different Science sections on the Science homepage?

Due to the diversity of the GCSE Science curriculum, we have divided our Science notes by exam board.

For (Core) Science GCSE we cover the following courses:

- AQA
- OCR 21st Century
- OCR Gateway
- Edexcel

For Additional Science GCSE we cover:

- AQA
- OCR Gateway
- OCR 21st Century

If you do not know which course you are studying - ask your teacher NOW! There are differences between them so you need to use the correct section to revise for your exam.

Do you cover the three separate Science GCSEs?

If you are studying Science separately as Biology, Chemistry and Physics, you will find Bitesize covers parts of your course in all three subjects. Look at the Bitesize sections that are for your particular exam board:

- Biology
- Chemistry
- Physics

Bitesize does not cover beyond Additional science level, so we do not have all material needed to study for three full Science GCSEs. We do not plan to add this material.

Bitesize used to cover Biology, Chemistry and Physics - so why doesn't it now?

Before the Science curriculum changed, we used to have separate Biology, Chemistry and Physics websites. These sites have been removed as they are no longer suitable for the new Science courses that began in 2006.
