Exam tips

  • Read the full text at least twice. Concentrate on getting the basic sense of each paragraph. Don't worry if there are words that you don't understand.

  • Identify similarities with English words. There are lots in this unit, eg magie - magic, participer - to participate/take part, digérer - to digest, messe - mass.
  • Look for words to do with positive and negative feelings, eg in this unit: captivée - captivated, génial - great , ennuyeux - boring, énervée - annoyed.
  • Be aware of words associated with Christmas, eg sapin - Christmas tree, crèche - nativity, fêter - to celebrate.
