Photography is a good tool for recording the development of your work, as well as being an art form in its own right. You need to be recording with an awareness of composition, the subject matter and what you are trying to achieve.

Composition

Composition is just as important in photography as with any other medium. Make sure you have an awareness of the art elements, such as line, shape and the balance within the image. Find out more about the art elements in the Composing artwork section.

It's useful to put the camera on its manual setting rather than using it in automatic mode. This puts you in control of the aperture, focus and shutter speed which gives you more control over the final photograph.
