Describe some features of life in the past for a chosen topic /period. Level B  
Give examples of stories they have heard that give them information about the past, and describe what they have learned.
Level A
   
Change, continuity, cause and effect              
Give some examples of changes that have affected their own and other people's lives and the life of their community (before/after/past/present) Give reasons why these changes took place. Level A        
Time and historical sequence              
Sequence a number of small objects/pictures from different periods in chronological order. Level B        
Use a few dates to place events on a time line. Level B          
The nature of historical evidence              
Describe what old photographs/films etc can tell them about people or places in the past. Level A    
Suggest some simple types of evidence that would tell them about a given person/event/development from the past. Level B
