Secrets of designing the Queen's Baton for the Commonwealth Games

What went into designing the Queen's Baton for the Commonwealth Games? What was the inspiration behind the way the baton looked, how long did it take to make, how many people did it involve and what did it cost? What does the Queen's message inside the baton say?

School Reporters from Jordanhill School in Glasgow asked one of their former pupils and the Baton's designer, William Mitchell, all these questions and more and he answered all but one of their enquiries - the content of the document written on by the Queen, which will stay secret until the Games begin on 23 July.
