School Reporters have been busy making the news at MediaCityUK in Salford - check out what went on behind the scenes.

The day started with North West Tonight's Roger Johnson going live on School Report TV with Matthew from Bury Church of England High School and Charlotte from St Mary's Catholic College

The reporting team from Carlton Bolling College got straight to work at the newsgathering hub, where they called schools from across the UK to find out what stories their fellow School Reporters were working on.

Bill Turnbull, fresh from presenting BBC Breakfast, spent some time with reporters from Wentworth High School. The pupils were impressed by how many people watch Bill presenting every morning - and by the fact he'd met Ed Sheeran!

The team spent the rest of the day working with BBC Radio Manchester, editing audio and producing vox pops for the Drive time show.

Divine and Al-Hamid joined BBC presenter Lizzie Greenwood-Hughes to present an 18 minute sports magazine programme from the BBC Sport Centre. The students learned that there's a lot more to it than just reading the script.

The pair then got to interview Olympic heptathlete Katarina Johnson-Thompson, who told them how exciting it was to compete at the London 2012 Games.
