Any Questions? An interview with Jonathan Dimbleby

Help

After taking part in Methodist College's own version of the popular debate programme Any Questions?, School Reporter Olivia got the chance to interview its original host, Jonathan Dimbleby, with fellow pupil James working behind the camera to capture it all.

The Radio 4 presenter spoke about his lengthy career in broadcasting, recounting his experiences in Northern Ireland and Bolivia as well as reflecting on how the world has changed during his lifetime.

He also sympathised with Olivia, who was the chairman in her debate, over the difficulties of balancing both sides. Although he admitted enjoying the thrill of a heated debate saying "It's testing but I like the fierceness - that's real politics."

Finally Dimbleby spoke about his reasons for leaving the weekend programme Any Answers and handing over the reins to Anita Anand before asking Olivia about her own plans for a career in media.
