Blue Peter & School Report tell the tale of the torch

School Reporters from St Cenydd Comprehensive School in Caerphilly worked with the Blue Peter team to tell the story of the first week of the Olympic torch relay in the UK.

With thousands of local heroes - as well as celebrity torchbearers like wil.i.am and Didier Drogba - carrying the torch, organisers estimate that more than 1m people have turned out in the first week to watch the Olympic flame pass through their community.

And as well as telling the story of the torch's journey, the School Reporters also showed some of the local highlights like Cwmcarn Forest, where a totem pole is placed in honour of John Evans who set off to the United States in 1793 in search of a native Indian tribe who he thought would be speaking Welsh!

Unfortunately they couldn't...
