Olympic torch relay: Day 63

The Olympic torch leaves Kent today and heads into Surrey and School Reporters there have already been busy covering how their area is involved in the build-up to the Olympic Games.

The evening celebration will take place at Stoke Park in Guildford with duo Rizzle Kicks performing alongside dance act Twist and Pulse.

With just over a week to go until the Olympic Games, athletes from all over the world have arrived in the UK.

But some of them have been training in the UK for weeks, training in various facilities all over the UK, including the Surrey Sports Park in Guildford.

School Reporters from Guildford County School meet a Team Estonia swimmer training in their town.

Alfie and Lucas from Guildford County School went along to meet one of the athletes from Team Estonia, swimmer Martin Liivamagi who will compete in the 100m breaststroke and the 200m individual medley.

He told them that it is an honour to be representing his country and said he was impressed with the facilities at his pre-game training camp.

As the Olympic torch continues to travel from Maidstone to Guildford, School Reporters from Invicta Grammar School have been on hand to report on the effect on local people.

School Reporter Mary interviewed Ryan Johnson, the owner of Woods Clothing, a local family business. Ryan said he was pleased that the Olympic committee had recognised Maidstone.
