School Radio Music offers a resource of music materials for the whole primary school. Although firmly based on the National Curriculum guidelines the programmes are also directly relevant to the Music / Expressive arts curricula of Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales.
Programmes also target the QCA schemes of work: you can find details of which units are covered in the 'curriculum links' box for each series, allowing programmes to be integrated into termly planning. Key to each series is that they support the non-specialist teacher by offering a mix of materials chosen especially to appeal to each age group with clear instructions on how and what to do. In conjunction with the teacher's notes and full-colour pupils books or posters each series can provide the busy teacher with all they need to confidently deliver a term's worth of class music. |
