Focus: contrasting what is available in shops in India with the UK; exploring how shopping patterns differ in India compared to the UK.
Key learning objectives: to identify how shopping differs in India for most families and why.
Summary: Sanjay takes Ajay to his local vegetable 'shop' - a simple stall a few streets away selling fresh produce. Later Ajay visits some typical street traders in Ernakulum. Finally he visits a large sari emporium - an air conditioned building on several levels that tends to mirror the western experience of shopping.
Story: 'It's not history' (part 2). Joy and Hazrat continue their adventures through the city - and pass through a number of retail activities as they do so.
