Further Learning

Artifice is a legitimate (and essential) part of programme making and online media production.

The critical challenge is to stay the right side of the line between acceptable media artifice and unacceptable deception.

Because of the creative nature of the industry, it's not possible to prescribe exactly where that line lies in all future cases. Decisions need to made with regard to the specific circumstances of each production.

The exercises elsewhere on this site are intended to help you understand the principles involved and to develop the ability to make those sorts of judgments in the course of your daily work. The links offered on this page are for those interested in further reading and background.
