Claude's Story

Claude Owen was a Rifleman in the 13th Battalion, King's Royal Rifle Corps. He was killed on Thursday, 31st August 1916 aged 25. He is buried in Bully-Grenay Communal Cemetery, British Extension at Pas de Calais which is mainly an artillery cemetery. Interestingly, his his gravestone records that he was 35 years old when he died but in fact he was only 25 years old. He parents were Thomas and Emma Disney, he was unmarried.
