William G Swainbank's Story

My grandfather William Graham Swainbank was award the milatry

medal for valour,I know it was in april 1917 in France. He was in

the Border regiment,11th battalion known as the Lonsdales. His

reg num is13792. Also he was wounded 1st July 1916, would love to know more he never spoke about any of this.

My great grandfather James Henry Wilson Border regiment 6th

battalion was killed in action 5th oct 1917 at the age of 44yrs.

reg num 5209,he is on the tyne cot memorial,I know very little

at all about him. But brave men I say.
