Hubert's Story

In memory of my grandfather, whom I wish I had known

My grandfather was blinded during war service in 1916 not yet 25 years old. He was discharged from active service on 26 October 1916. Although he lived until 1945 he suffered from war wounds all of his life. He married Jane Hope in May 1915. My mother says he was a wonderful caring father and husband.
