Alfred Henry's Story

Alfred Henry Johnson, Cpl, late of the West Yorkshire Regiment. Wounded at Mons and shipped to Malta, he was returned to the Somme. He survived that battle and lived on, but passed away before I could even know him. I will march on November 9th, past the cenotaph, for him and for his Grandfather before him, William Johnstone VC, with pride in what they stood for and in my very own small act of remembrance.
