Harold's Story

He expected the war to end after a short while, which for him it sadly did

In Scawby Church, near Brigg in Lincolnshire, there is a plaque dedicated to Lance Corporal Harold Oglesby. I only know a little about him from my auntie Barbra, his niece. Apparently he was one of the regular soldiers at the beginning of the war and, like so many, expected the war to end after a short while, which for him it sadly did. He died so young.
