Alexander's Story

Alexander Goodfellow enlisted in Manchester when war was declared, he left for Egypt in September 1914 & went on to Gallipoli, arriving near Helles in May 1915. He was killed at the Battle of Krithea on June 4 1915 & is remembered on the Helles Memorial in Gallipoli. He left behind his wife Emily Goodfellow & two young children, Elsie, my Grandmother, & Alexander, who sadly died of bronchitis aged 12 months on May 13 1915.
