Frank's Story

My mother, Joyce, never knew her uncle as he died before her mother, Lydia, had even married. Frank had a special place in his sister Lydia's heart as their mother had died when Frank was in his early teens - a loss which affected him deeply. He was a sensitive boy and his death in such terrible circumstances and so far away from his home in London affected my grandmother very much. She always remembered him but especially on 11th November. He was a handsome young man with dark, soulful eyes.
