My grandad, 41645 Private Isaac Culshaw joined up on 20 October 1916. According to the information I have he was initially in 'A' Company, 6th Batallion of the Yorkshire regiment. His diary, which I am in the process of transcribing gives details of his movements [a serious offence] and I am hoping to map the progress of his war however am unable to locate any referrence to the 'Yorkshire Regiment' on web site I have visited.
My grandad was killed by a single shot in the chest on 27 September 1917. Among the few personal effects sent back to his wife Mary was his diary and the stainless steel field mirror which had been in his breast pocked and through which the bullet that killed him had passed.
I never met you but will always miss you
