Bombardier William Hawkins volunteered in April 1915 and after serving at various stations on important duties was drafted to Mesopotamia in 1917. He served in the capture of Baghdad and in all engagements up to the occupation of Mosul. He was demobilised in 1919. He will not be forgotten.
