George's Story

My Uncle George Sibley was born 10th October 1895 at Stanford on Soar to Alfred William Sibley and Hannah Avis (nee Willis). He served with the 2nd Battalion, Northamptonshire Regiment. He had two brothers also serving: Frederick and Edwin. He died of wounds at St.Omer on the 6th October 1915 and is buried at Longuenesse (St Omer) Souvenir Cemetery. He is honoured on the Wellingborough War Memorial.
