Stanley's Story

My great uncle Stanley was the second eldest of a family of 16, the oldest son Charles Wesley Rees also died in the First World War at the Battle of Jutland on the 31st May 1916. I don't think my great grandmother ever recovered from losing her two oldest boys, and as was usual in those days it wasn't discussed by other members of the family. My great uncle was in 16th Battalion Kings Royal Rifle Corps and died of wounds on the 16th April 1918.
