Ian's Story

My grandad had the most amazing stories from his years in the military police with the RAF. As you can imagine he saw many things while trying to keep the other soldiers in line. He also worked for the United Nations for a while, and I still have his blue beret. He spent many years in Cyprus at Akrotiri and my grandparents went back there for many years; in fact they were booked to go back the Christmas that he died (2007). He was a big and warm-hearted man who loved his grandchildren. I miss him very much and wish he had lived for a few more months to see me meet the man of my dreams and marry him. I know they would have got on.
