Alexander Raeside's Story

Alexander Raeside Armstrong was born in 1896 the only son of John Armstrong and Elizabeth Clayton, in Glasgow Scotland. He enlisted in the 9th Batt Highland Light Infantry (Glasgow Highlanders).

His death was sent by letter to his parents informing them that he was killed in action on 20 May 1917 while serving with the British Expeditionary Force.

He is remembered with honour at the Arras Memorial
