An excellent programme which I wish, echoing others, had been longer. Joseph Mawle's peaceful but charismatic portrayal was very moving.

I have no religious views whatsoever but watched The Passion out of curiosity more than anything - I found it to be an amazing and beautiful piece of work and thought that Joseph's portrayal of Jesus was wonderful. Full marks to the rest of the cast, crew and everyone else involved in the production - you should be very proud !!

Great to see a real portrayal of the Passion of Jesus. Even though the actor did not at first have the magnetic personality I would expect, he soon got my attention.

It was well worth watching.

Wow ..thank you so much for showing this, and at a time when it was easy to view. The portrayal of Jesus as gutsy compassionate, fully emotional man was terrific and such a refreshing change from the usual two dimensional benign figure. I was deeply moved watching this. well done.

It was gratifying to see the passion on at Easter and I was so keen to watch it. Joseph Malwe was amazing, he has such presence!
For the most part it was totally absorbing and heart rending in places but how much better it would have been if it was more authentic to the Gospels.
Why were certain key events left out, glossed over or inaccurate?
It is one thing to aim for a contemporary
approach but this does not have to be at the expense of a genuine protrayal of the events before, during and following Christ's passion.
The role of Mary was in part very moving but in some scenes - the narrative was bizarre and the events inaccurate. Mary accepted God's will to be the mother of God.

Thanks BBC for a beautiful film with real believable warts and all characters. Well done for not showing Jesus as just the usual miracle worker but allowing him to establishing his deity and real purpose - "I have come to defeat death", "through my sacrifice the sins of the world will be cleansed", etc. And well done for giving enough time to it to show the full story, at peak Easter viewing times. The best film about Jesus of recent times?

Thank-you BBC for an interesting drama! It was a great cast and Joseph Malwe moved me throughout the series.
Always seeing the story told through the eyes of Jesus it was thought-provoking to see the humane struggles others might have gone through

I was secptical at first Why did we need another portrayal of the crucifixion?
I was also a little dissapointed that certain events were omitted such as Thomas feeling the wounds in Jesus side and hands.
Having said that it gave a very moving portrayal of the love Jesus had for his disciples and price he paid for us.
It also reminded me of the Risen Christ and that he was with the Disciples then and is indeed with us today. Well done bbc.

Joseph Mawles portayal of Jesus was deeply moving.
The film was so different to anything produced before, much more as it must have been.
The crucifixion scene was almost unwatchable but as a whole it was the most beautiful and faith enhancing film.It made my Easter.Thankyou.

Where is the discernement these days ? An awful portrayal of the last days of Jesus on earth. Riddled with scriptural inaccuracies, showing nothing in regard to miracles. I can only assume that this is the B.B.C`S attempt to portray a liberal, pc view of The Messiah, completely stripped of power, instead showing him as some sort of enigmatic guru. Even Judas was portrayed as a kind of victim. Can we really expect to betray God and still end up sitting on a cosy cloud ? - nonsense ! Rather than being an ignorant pawn Judas actually LOOKED for a way to hand Jesus over to the Sanhedrin ( Matt 26: 14).
Get a grip and stop fooling yourelves, there will be judgement for those who do such, and Jesus will do the judging.
The final scene, with Jesus leaving Peter as he walks away to who knows where was farcical. What of the ascension ?
In short a total rewrite of the historical narrative that the vast majority of the populace will be totally unaware of.A sad day for us all.
