Red Nose Day single
Rob Brydon could soon be slipping in to his tight leather trousers to perform on Top of the Pops alongside some of pops finest…a far cry from warbling in the welsh hills as Uncle Bryn.
Still what would Comic Relief be without a truly exceptional Red Nose Day song?
After an episode of Gavin and Stacey in Rob Brydon and his co star Ruth Jones's characters performed the classic Islands in the Stream fans went potty for the pairs singing talents.
The pair who went to school together and sang in school musicals suggested the duet to Comic Relief, and the team were really excited.
"I was really looking forward to it because I think I can sing a bit. But, I got really nervous when we were there, because a proper recording studio is very unforgiving of your voice. It's not like singing in the bathroom, you hear every little imperfection. But Ruth and I love singing and were thrilled with the result."
Combine the duo's talents with the legendary Tom Jones, add a few Robin Gibb backing vocals and you've got a winning Comic Relief track.
