Radio 3's Red Nose Conducting Competition
Do you consider yourself a bit of a whiz with a baton? Did you watch BBC TWO's 'Maestro' series and think you could do better? Well, if the answer to either of these questions is 'yes', then now's your chance to prove it and raise some money for Comic Relief in the process.
BBC Radio 3 are offering one lucky person the chance to conduct the BBC Singers in Handel's Halleliujah Chorus, live on air on Red Nose Day, this Friday 18th March, and three runners up the chance to spend 10 minutes in the driving seat of a rehearsal with one of the BBC Orchestras or the Ulster Orchestra.
It's a unique opportunity to see what it feels like to be in (or out of!) control of a group of top class musicians and no previous conducting experience is necessary. So, if you'd like to be in with a chance of winning, all you need to do is answer the following question:
What were the BBC Maida Vale studios before they were studios?
Is it:
a.) Roller Skating Venue
b.) Ice Rink
c.) School
It's easy to enter, simply call 0904 16 16 333 with your answer.
Calls cost £1.53 from a BT landline, other networks may vary and calls from mobiles will cost considerably more. £1.15 will go to Comic Relief. You must be 16 or over and please ask the bill payers permission before calling. Lines close at 10am on 9th March and winners will be notified on 10th March. Full terms and conditions can be found here.
Good luck!
