Stars limber up for Red Nose night of TV
After weeks of anticipation, Red Nose Day is finally upon us! A host of comedians, actors and musicians are gearing up for the big night of TV which kicks off at 7pm on Friday 18th March on BBC One with Michael McIntyre and Claudia Winkleman at the helm.
In the first part of the evening viewers can look forward to special mini episodes of Doctor Who, Ruby Wax, Outnumbered, featuring Andy Murray, and Comic Relief Does Masterchef starring Miranda.
Graham Norton and Davina McCall take over presenting duties for the middle portion of the show and will introduce a special EastEnders feature, as well as a Downton Abbey spoof starring, amongst others, Kim Cattrall, Victoria Wood, Joanna Lumley and Harry Enfield. Ant and Dec can also be seen in their bid to raise cash for Red Nose Day by trying to appear in as many TV programmes as possible.
Later in the show, Dermot O’Leary will be in charge of proceedings, whilst Take That and Adele perform live. Special sketches from Harry Hill and Smithy will also feature.
Lenny Henry and Fearne Cotton will take a turn at presenting duties and line up the ultimate Take That tribute group – made up of stars including David Walliams, Catherine Tate and Alan Carr. Gareth Malone will try and turn a group of TV chefs into choristers and Miranda returns with another hilarious sketch.
For the final part of the night, Claudia returns with Jonathan Ross for a look back at David Walliams’ greatest panel show of all time, whilst Alan Partridge returns to our screens and The Inbetweeners boys reveal what happened on their Rude Road Trip. There are also appearances from Summer Heights High star Chris Lilley, Kate Moss and Armstrong and Miller.
Then it’s over to stand-up comedians Jack Whitehall and Kevin Bridges who will present a selection of the best comedy clips of the last couple of years from 1am.
