Will kazoo crew break world record?
Taking its cue from BBC Radio 3's Big Red Nose show, Howard of Effingham School is holding its own kazoo extravaganza on Red Nose Day this year.
One thousand four hundred students could be playing one of a number of tunes, from Postman Pat, the Dambusters March, EastEnders or Match of the Day when they assemble on their school field on Friday 18th March.
The school are currently applying for world record status from Guinness World Records for their magnificent display. If this is granted, they will be creating a record for the largest kazoo ensemble of under 18's!
Big Red Nose show is attempting to break a world record of its own for the largest ever kazoo ensemble. This will be made up of over 50 celebrities, the BBC Concert Orchestra and the audience of the show set to take place on Monday 14th March at the Royal Albert Hall.
The night will feature performances from stars including cellist Julian Lloyd Webber and violinist Nicola Benedetti and will feature comedians such as Miranda Hart and Jenny Éclair trying to gets to grips with their Kazoo.
Ninety five per cent of ticket prices go to Comic Relief, and each ticket purchased comes with a free kazoo to make sure it is a record breaking event. The show will be broadcast on Radio 3 on Friday 18 March at 7pm.
