Lara Stone launches Red Nose Day
Supermodel Lara Stone has kicked off the campaign for Red Nose Day 2011 in true style – by recreating a very special version of Marilyn Monroe’s famous Seven Year Itch photograph.
The model can been seen posing in the midst of this year’s brand new Red Nose collection, which features three different varieties; Chucklechomp, Honkus and Captain Conk. The idea is that people are encouraged to do Something Funny For Money ahead of Red Nose Day, which takes place on Friday 18th March. A host of celebrities have been lined up to present the live TV show, which airs from 7pm on BBC One, including James Corden, Kevin Bridges, Fearne Cotton, Lenny Henry, Davina McCall, Michael McIntyre, Graham Norton, Jonathan Ross, Jack Whitehall and Claudia Winkleman. Returning presenter Davina McCall said: “I am so excited to be part of Red Nose Day again this year, it’s always such a privilege to be involved. The British public really knows how to have a laugh and raising money along the way for such a fantastic charity makes it even more worthwhile.” Highlights of the TV night announced so far include sketches from comedienne-of-the-moment Miranda Hart, Harry Hill and Gavin and Stacey’s Smithy. Plus there will be a special musical contribution from The Choir’s Gareth Malone, as he attempts to shepherd a collection of TV chefs through Rick Astley’s classic Never Gonna Give You Up. The cast of Outnumbered will be on hand to offer their unique brand of humour, whilst the boys from smash comedy The Inbetweeners will be showing the highlights from their Rude Road Trip, which saw them attempt to visit 52 rude places in just 50 hours. Talent contest Let’s Dance for Comic Relief makes its return with Steve Jones and Alex Jones at the helm, as a crop of fresh celebrities, including Noel Fielding and Lulu, attempt their own versions of famous dance numbers. The competition will commence on Saturday 19 February for a four-week run. Don’t forget, you can always find out how to Do Something Funny For Money or be inspired by fundraising ideas here.
