Five new BBC HD channels

The BBC has launched five High Definition services (BBC News HD, BBC Three HD, BBC Four HD, CBBC HD and CBeebies HD).  These services are available on Freeview HD, YouView, Freesat, Sky HD and Virgin Media. 

The new channels are listed on the Electronic Programme Guide (EPG), at the following numbers on these platforms:

Freeview

Both CBBC HD and BBC Three HD are universally available on the BBC Freeview HD multiplex, with 98.5% population coverage. BBC Four HD, CBeebies HD and BBC News HD are available, but due to capacity restraints, will launch on a new commercial Freeview HD multiplex. This new commercial multiplex cover 50% of UK households at the launch and will cover 70% of UK households by the end of June 2014.

Viewers accessing these services on Freeview may need to retune their Freeview HD set top box or IDTV.

BT Vision+

Due to technical limitations on the BT Vision+ platform, it is not possible to access CBeebies HD and CBBC HD.

Viewers should contact BT directly on 0800 111 4567, or alternatively go online to the BT Vision forum for further information.

Freesat, Sky and Virgin Media

Freesat, Sky and Virgin Media viewers should find the services have been automatically added and should not need to retune their receivers. However, for more technical details about the satellite frequencies please visit this page .
