Sixty Watt Bayonets

Sixty Watt Bayonets are a female-fronted garage-punk band comprising Penny, Will, Mike and Billy who met at Reading University. Less than two years old, their sound is reminiscent of Siouxsie and the Banshees and Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

The band released their debut 7 track EP Pounding Hearts, Fighting Words in July 2009 and received good reviews from Rock Sound and Kerrang!. Since their first demo, the band have been working closely with Club Velocity who have helped to nurture the band's sound through a successful 12 month residency at the Club Velocity nights in Reading. They recently completed a mini UK Tour and are planning to release a download single in January 2010.

I just saw these guys at Reading. My friends and I agree that it was a really good sound and I will remember them as the band that opened to a great weekend of high quality music from the BBC Introducing Stage.

The drummer's not as fit as he could be Mark!
I still beat him at badders every time. I'm his father!
Coincidence? - your surname is not a common one, I once bought a kit car from a David R. Golightly. Are you perhaps related by any chance?
