Reading & Leeds 28-30 August 2009

Brand New

Brand New's attendance at Reading & Leeds comes on the eve of their highly-anticipated fourth album 'Daisy', released in September. Their previous album 'The Devil And God Are Raging Inside Me' is often referred to as this decade's 'The Bends' but these Levittown, New Yorkers couldn't sound less like Radiodhead. Known for a loud and emotionally dynamic live show, this is Brand New's first appearance on the main stage (they played the NME/Radio 1 stage in 2007) but don't expect anything short of an massive performance from a band who strive to deliver 'a perfect' gig experience.

It's great that Brand New have been giving part of the top billing on the Main Stage. I hope the BBC cover the set for the red button/online.

Why are there no highlights for BN's performance? There is coverage of every other main stage band, apart from these, surely they deserve the same treatment given how high on the bill they are.

@Daisy: They still haven't uploaded the footage of Radiohead & Bloc Party from tonight so I hope they'll update tomorrow with the Brand New highlights.

Either the BBC really hates Brand New, or Brand New have declined to have highlights on the website. I notice there were no highlights from Glastonbury either.

Anyone from the BBC want to comment?

Surely this isn't all the video highlights on the site? I was convinced that after the lack of highlights from Glasto there'd be some from Reading, especially as they were high up the bill. They must be the only main stage act to have no highlights!?!?

Did the band refuse permission to the BBC?

Is any one from the BBC going to respond to these comments? I find it shocking that we pay a licence fee yet we have to use YouTube to find video of a band we like.

I am absolutely raging!!!!!!!! The one festival I've waited for as far as line-ups go for a long Brand New, No Manc Orchestra (shock!!!), no Thursday, no Billy Talent (New album out!!!!), No NFG....I could go on but as far as my anger goes I really can't! Brand New were at Glasto as well, its all very well and good supporting British bands, but lets try showing something that shows a degree of intelligence, integrity, and damn good music, rather than 'Little Boots'-poor, Kaiser Chiefs-overrated, and 'The View' whose debut album was good but following they were BELOW BRANDNEW ON THE BILL,. As you see I'm really., really not happy to say the least....sort it out and quickly!!!!!!!!!! :X

I am shocked that the Brand New video hasn't been uploaded. It's shocking how a terrible band such as the Arctic Monkeys (in my opinion) gets to headline the main stage when a brilliant band like Brand New doesn't even get a 30min video of highlights. Their set was not covered by the BBC when they played at Glastonbury and I hoped that this time the BBC will actually take time to cover a band that's been given a slot on the main stage. I find this utterly outrageous.

Brand New didn't give permission for the BBC to use their footage of the festival. This was also the case for Glastonbury.

How frustrating, A festival finally give this band the recognition it deserves and the BBc fail to give them the coverage they deserve, please if there is any video upload it
